Goals For Children
The Preschool will provide activities and experiences to help children:
- Develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
- Develop language skills.
- Develop problem-solving skills
- Develop conflict resolution skills.
- Learn to be a member of the preschool community.
- Be curious, confident and creative.
Preschool Screenings
Children are screened for language, fine and gross motor, self-help, social-emotional and cognitive skills. Children are also given hearing, vision, and, dental, screenings. These screenings can help parents identify any potential concern before it becomes an obstacle to the child's development. If appropriate, the staff will provide referrals to Early Childhood Special Education services or appropriate community resources.
Curriculum
The Mountain Grove School District Preschool utilizes the nationally recognized early childhood curriculum Project Construct. This curriculum is based upon the learning theory that children construct their own knowledge, at their own pace and development level, through play and interactions in a well-facilitated learning environment.
